INTRODUCING SPRINGFIELD MUSIC
Achievement through a friendly and positive learning environment
We’re proud of the reputation that Springfield Music has gained throughout the years - for a place where students can thrive and make the most of their talents.
Springfield Music is run by Caroline Willshire and Phoebe Prior, and offers individual tuition on both the Piano and Keyboard.
Caroline is an experienced piano teacher who has been teaching in excess of 18 years. Not only has Caroline taught privately, but she has also taught music at Ampfield Primary School, and currently teaches piano and keyboard at Toynbee School. In addition to school age pupils, Caroline also has a number of adult pupils whom she teaches during the day.
Phoebe is a multi-instrumental musician who has studied Piano, Trumpet and Violin. She attended the Junior Guildhall School of Music gaining an Advanced Certificate in Music, and has a Bachelor in Music Degree (BMus). Phoebe teaches both Piano and Trumpet.

As an experienced and effective teacher of piano and musicianship, I teach a wide range of ages and abilities. I am knowledgeable of different learning styles and my aim is to motivate and inspire pupils, as well as develop their skills.
I hold a Teaching Certificate from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (CT ABRSM) and am a Fellow of The Incorporated Society of Musicians.
In 1991 I established a private teaching practice teaching piano and music theory to children and adults from beginner to grade 8 and helping them to achieve success in practical examinations. (Ages 5 to adult). Alongside this I was a proprietor of a very successful music workshop called “Singing Tots” - a music with mummy group (ages 1 – 5).
I have also been employed by Hampshire County Council to provide music workshops for pupils aged 5 to 11, covering Key Stage 1 & 2 at Ampfield C of E Primary School, including recorder groups, choir and music for school shows.
I am currently employed by Hampshire County Council to provide piano lessons for pupils aged 11 to 16 at Toynbee Secondary School, Chandler’s Ford.
I also directed the Romsey Abbey Youth Orchestra from 2006 to 2016.
On a more personal level, I enjoy writing and recording my own songs. I have recorded 4 CD’s of my own compositions. In addition to playing the piano, I also play the keyboard, guitar, recorder and flute.
Phoebe is a multi-instrumental musician who has studied Piano, Trumpet and Violin. She attended the Junior Guildhall School of Music gaining an Advanced Certificate in Music, and has a Bachelor in Music Degree (BMus) and is a member of the Incorprated Society of Musicians.
Phoebe teaches both Piano and Trumpet.
Every year Springfield Music holds a charity concert in the
United Reformed Church, Romsey.
2019 SPRINGFIELD CHARITY CONCERT
The 12th annual Springfield Music Charity Concert was hosted by the Abbey United Reformed Church on Sunday 14th July. Wonderful Piano performances from beginners to grade 8 standard were heard from an extensive programme and a unique musical rendition of ‘Peter Pan’. The audience enjoyed listening to pianists playing music from an array of genres including film themes, contemporary pieces such as Primavera by Ludovico Einaudi as well as impressive pieces composed by Tchaikovsky, Beethoven and Vivaldi to name but a few. This year we were also treated to a great performance of Jazz pieces from Nathaniel Lester. The event raised £200 for this year’s chosen charity – The Fortune Centre for Riding Therapy.
